Become a Face 2 Face Supporter

This is a great opportunity for businesses of all sizes to get involved. For only 1-2 hours per year you can make a difference by talking to young people in years 7-12 all about your industry, how to get into it and the pathways.

In partnership with the Australian Government,  Connenct to the Future Initiative and GRVEC Inc (Geelong Regional Vocational Education Council)

Hearing about other people’s careers can assist young people to identify and forge a career path for themselves, leading to personal fulfilment and economic independence.

Face 2 Face supporters are a group of local business people, from all walks of life and a diverse range of occupations, who donate an hour of their time once or twice a year to talk to young people in years 7 to 12.

Face 2 Face supporters talk to young people about issues such as:

  • What their industry is about
  • Types of jobs within their industry
  • Pathways into this industry
  • What they like about working in their industry
  • How they ended up where they are today

If you decide to become a Face 2 Face supporter, GRVEC will:

  • Provide a training kit on what to expect
  • Provide tips on how to go about talking to a group of students (A teacher will be present during all presentations)
  • Record your contact details on a database of Face 2 Face supporters
  • Negotiate with schools looking for speakers and invite you to participate from time to time

Please note: While your participation is highly valued you are not obligated to respond to every request and you are free to opt out of the Face 2 Face program at any time you choose.
