RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKERS – ACCOMMODATION SUPPORT

Accommodation Support has several exciting Residential Support Worker position open internally to relevant staff and stakeholders of Karingal (including MatchWorks clients):

 

The Residential Support Workers (RSW’s) are responsible for providing high level personal care, community access and support to help people with a disability residing in Karingal houses live independently and reach their goals.

 

The Amundsen Street Accommodation Service is a relatively new service under the my future my choice initiative. Amundsen Street will provide 5 accommodation and 1 respite place for young people who have been residents of Residential Aged Care (RAC) and/or are at risk of entry to RAC.

 

As a RSW you will be required to have excellent communication skills, the ability to relate to clients of Karingal, perform a full range of personal care duties and the associated paperwork.

 

Successful applicants must have:

  • Full Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate
  • Successful Police Check (less than six months old)
  • Completed or willingness to complete Certificate IV in Community Services (Disability) or equivalent

The position will involve varied hours, including weekends, nights including some active nights. You will also need to abide with the Karingal Inc policies and procedures as you aim to promote and enrich the physical, emotional and social well being of each client.

 

Attractive, above award-wages apply, including penalty rates for active nights and access to salary packaging provisions (within Karingal Policy). Please see position description below for more information.
