The Cartridge World Team
Putting the right people in the right jobs
When Mim and John looked at purchasing a franchise they wanted a business that would suit their lifestyle and one that would grow steadily.
That was two years ago and their Cartridge World business is now thriving to the point where six months ago they employed a staff member to help with the workload.
The organisation they contacted to help them grow was MatchWorks in Werribee. “I explained the sort of person we were looking for,” said Mim “It was a part-time position and probably perfect for a mum with kids at school because those were the hours we were after.”
Single mum Carol Menz works at Cartridge World, Werribee three days a week, five hours a day, but the flexibility with her arrangement makes it a win-win for all concerned.
“Carol can pick and choose which days she works. If she has a commitment at school she can swap days to suit. Alternatively if we need her here on a particular day she comes in then. It’s the perfect arrangement for everyone,” said John.
“A lot of small businesses out there, franchises or not, can be a little more flexible with regards to the type of staff they are looking for and the hours that staff may need to work.
“MatchWorks has the flexibility to place people into many different workplace requirements. Their job seekers can be single mums looking for part-time employment, highly skilled mature aged job seekers, job seekers who may have a disability but very eager to find work, as well as general job seekers with a variety of skills. That type of flexibility of potential staff is really important to us.”
“The pressure was on MatchWorks to find the right person for us and they definitely got it right,” said John.
