Karingal Project Officer Lee Considine has been awarded the coveted Client Services Award in the Victorian Disability Sector Awards, presented by the Department of Human Services in Melbourne in April.
Lee originally began his career as a primary school teacher, before moving into the disability support sector, specialising in youth, community inclusion and preparation for employment.
He has overseen a range of Karingal activities, including the Getting the Life You Want program, which assists people with disabilities to make selfdirected choices about their life, including how they spend their time.
According to Karingal CEO Daryl Starkey, Lee has championed community inclusion and promoted independence and empowerment for people with disabilities throughout his 17 years at the organisation.
“We are very proud to have such a dedicated and passionate member of our team,” Daryl said.
“The work that Lee does makes such a difference in the lives of so many people, and I am glad that he has been recognised for this.”
Karingal Life Options General Manager Robyn Bradshaw was also nominated and a finalist for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
