MatchWorks a shining star

04 May 2009

MatchWorks has continued to receive positive results in recent Federal Government evaluations.

All Job Network, Disability Employment Network (DEN) and Vocational Rehabilitation Service (VRS) providers are rated every six months out of a maximum of five stars, with a small number of organisations performing at either end of the spectrum of one or five stars.

The majority of providers fall somewhere in the middle.

Over the six month period from June to December 2008, all, bar one, MatchWorks DEN and VRS ESA’s (Employment Service Area) received at least four stars, with the majority achieving four-and-a-half stars.

All Job Network sites achieved a higher than two-and-a-half stars result. These ratings are a great achievement for the organisation.

Key achievements have included excellent results for VRS sites with Geelong, Corio, Werribee, Footscray, Moonee Ponds, Brunswick, Broadmeadows, Airport West, St Albans and Sunshine sites all achieving at least four stars. DEN Uncapped achieved four-and-a-half stars in every ESA the service is delivered and the Geelong DEN Capped site four stars.

These results are particularly crucial in the lead-up to the new tender for DEN and VRS services later this year. All DEN and VRS service providers will be tendering for new contracts which will come into effect from 1 March, 2010.

Colin Entwistle, a Regional Manager for MatchWorks DEN and VRS, said staff had put in a fantastic effort. The ratings were a direct result of their outstanding commitment to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

“With our performance in VRS contracts overall we were second only to one other provider nationally,’’ Colin said. “The performance of our DEN and VRS services hopefully put us in a strong position to not only retain business but also win further growth in the new tender.”

With close to 1000 active job seekers at any one time, Job Network’s Sunshine site is one of MatchWorks busiest. Twelve months-ago this site was awarded two-and-a-half stars, yet this December the team achieved a fantastic four stars.

Airport West Job Network also achieved four-and-a-half stars and MatchWorks Work for the Dole achieved above the national average in each of its three regions.

MatchWorks General Manager Michael Wasley said all MatchWorks staff were to be congratulated on their hard work and commitment to providing excellent service.
