New Chair for Karingal announced at AGM

12 February 2010

Karingal Chair Rod Payne stepped down last year, paving the way for board member, David McArthur to take over the role of Chair.

David is Karingal’s longest-serving Board member, first joining in 1980 and has previously held the position of Chair four times.

David is a Civil Engineer and is employed as the Design Co-ordinator at the City of Greater Geelong.

Deputy Chair is Peter Colman, a relatively new face, who joined the Karingal Board in April 2008.

Peter is a senior finance professional with extensive experience in the energy industry in Australia and Europe.

Karingal also welcomed two new faces to its Board this year in Barry Smith and David Cornell.

Both were members of the Disability Opportunities Victoria (DOV) Board of Management.

DOV was a disability provider on the Mornington Peninsula which merged with Karingal last year to form Konnections.

Barry has experience in employment services, corporate management and disability services, while David is an accountant with expertise in audit, compliance and risk management.

The other Karingal Board members are Rod Payne, Cheryl Graham, Marilyn Blakey, Allan Freeman, Tony Ficca and Mark Seller.
